Criminal Record Check An investigation of criminal records offers a greater insight into a prospective tenant’s past history. Depending on the nature of the crime and how long ago it took place, a criminal record may be a red flag as to a potential problem tenant. CTS offers a variety of criminal searches to search for records for your applicant. These include: • Nationwide Criminal Database Search (includes wants and warrants, terrorist watch list and national sex offender registry) • State Criminal Search (where available) • County Criminal Search (recommended) • Nationwide Federal Criminal Search • Social Security Trace If you are concerned about previous criminal records, CTS recommends county level searches as the most thorough and up-to-date source of information.
